Kanye West, dessen neue Single ursprünglich "Diamonds Are Forever" heissen sollte, hat diese nun komplett überarbeitet. Grund dafür ist folgender: Als er von der Situation um so genannte "conflict diamonds" (Diamanten für die Menschen unter unwürdigen Umständen arbeiten und teilweise sterben müssen) aus Staaten wie Sierra Leone erfuhr, änderte er sofort die Lyrics des Songs.

Hatte der Text vorher noch das Tragen von Diamanten glorifiziert, so hört man jetzt sehr kritische Töne vom Roc-A-Fella Produzenten & Rapper. Er hätte davon selbst vorher nicht gewusst und wolle mit dem Song die Leute wachrütteln, so dass sie auf den Kauf von billigen Diamanten, die unter den o.g. Umständen gewonnen wurden, verzichten, so West.
